Does this tool only work with the characters included or can you import your own character?

it works by combining different premade spritesheets of body parts into a full characters.  Its not made to work with other spritesheets,   just the ones included.

Hi! When the standalone version becomes available, will it be sold separately or will it be an update to this current version? I'm waiting for it because I don't want to be tied to Unity.

it will be included in this same package, so if you already bought this pack you get instant access to the stand alone version.

Great! Bought it. :)

Stand alone version is now live in BETA. it's in the Zip file called Character creator - 2D Modern v2 BETA.zip

Amazing, thanks!

This is amazing! Wish I could use it with Clickteam Fusion 2.5 rather than just Unity though.   Can you make it top down direct or just isometric?

Thank you! Yeah im working on a standalone version so you dont need unity, stay tuned. The view is strictly isometric, but having a straight topdown view is a good idea ๐Ÿ‘

I am very interested in getting this pack to test a game idea I have. Once you have a standalone tool please hit us up.

Thanks! I will ๐Ÿ‘

Just bought it and tested it. It is working perfectly on windows 11. Thank you so much my good sir

Thats great to hear! I will keep it in Beta for a while and keep running tests and gather feedback.

I have a question. My game isn't being made in Unity, but I'd like to export the sprites. Can I export separate layers (hair, armor, items) from the sprites and try to combine them in some way in my engine? Or can I only export the full character sprite?

Great question. yes you can export individual parts of the character and use them as layers, just make sure you hide the parts you dont want to include in the final output. For example if you just want to export a weapon, simply hide the body, head, chest, legs, shoes and set the shadow opacity to 0. if you want more control you can also use the base spritesheets  that are used to make the creator, these are already seperated into each individual part and most are uncolored and can be found in the folder "Spritesheets".

Oh Cool! Can you also make something like grenade throwing? (Including explosion effects)

Thanks! There is an animation for throwing grenades called

  • Attack2 (Throw)

but i currently have no plans on adding VFX for this. There are a lot of explosion packs out there so its hard for me to compete with those:)

There are a lot out there, but I don't think I've seen one that really matches the style.

Maybe you are right. I'll look into it!

This is Awesome, and id buy it in an instant if it was an .Exe and not a UnityPackage... Any future plans for a standalone version .?

Thanks! Yeah I have plans on making a standalone version as soon as possible.

Same here, I'm using Godot and don't know what to do with a unitypackage ;)
Keep it up, your work is amazing !

Thats great feedback ๐Ÿ‘ I'll get on it.

Nice work!  Just wondering if you were planning to create a monster or demonic realm pack.  That would be really great!

Thank you! After I am done with the modern/Zombie packs im planning on moving over to fantasy assets, including environments and characters. Perhaps monsters would work in those packs.

Okay, thanks!

Will there be a fantasy modular version as well? It also would be great to have a series of magic buff and debuff VFX.

I was going to ask the same thing.  A Fantasy version would be AMAZING as well.  One additional vote for me as well!

(Still buy this pack because anything from SmallScaleInt is a must buy IMO)

This is also VERY cool in the world of AI Art Generation because I can make my dyanmically created portraits loosely match the "in-game" characters.

Thanks man! Absolutely im working hard on the fantasy series as we speak.
